These videos are doing a great job in conveying just how loopy their beliefs are. It's one thing to write about hiding in your basement when the end comes or living in some fantasy Earthly paradise in books and magazines that no one besides JW's will ever read. But now they are putting out these wacky videos that will make no sense to non-cult members. Same with the video on shunning or how to find a marriage mate. It makes them look even more non-mainstream.

so here an update on my current situation, in a nutshell i've been trying to quietly fade for the past 5 months.. well, my mom somehow found out that i am currently fading and that i live with my boyfriend (for more info on this check my previous posts) i told her yes i live with him and yes i no longer want to be a jw.
anyways, yesterday she met my boyfriend.. awkward.
and after lunch she pulled me aside to tell me that the po came up to her (he was part of my jc when i was reproved) he said to her "someone came to me and said - i cannot say who so they will remain anonymous- but that your daughter is living with someone" my mom confirmed and apparently he told her that i have one week to confess this, and if i don't my parents are obligated to tell them everything.. what kind of nonsense is that?
I'm sorry but how can you be raised as a witness, baptized as a witness, and not realize that your mom is going to feel obliged to report any kind of "wrongdoing" to the elders??? That's how JWs think, that's what they're programmed to do. They're a cult.
Dont play their games. Don't admit to anything. If they stop by, be friendly but evasive, don't let them inside. If they call and want to set up a meeting, either politely decline or accept but just forget to actually show up. Any way you could just move again, maybe change your phone number too(without telling your mom, the informant)?

Haven't there been at least a couple court cases where they have argued that a witness out in field service is engaging in a completely personal activity not directed by them or under their supervision? I think it was a case where a Bethelite was driving and got in an accident while out in service.
If they can forbid someone from going in field service, then that seems to contradict the above argument. They sure like to have it both ways.

The whole idea of faithful dubs hiding out in their basements as Armageddon breaks out is hard to swallow in the first place, just in print. Now they are making videos actually portraying this scenario?? Way to try to go more mainstream Watchtower!!

i was contacted by my ex sister-in-law yesterday.
she asked me if i wanted to spend some time with my niece, while she went to her sister's baby shower.
it turns out my niece can't go because she's about to be disfellowshipped at the ripe old age of 14. .
I would think this kind of situation could result in the Borg being liable in a civil lawsuit or even facing legal charges. I don't think a minor can enter a legal contract and consequently I don't see how they can be sanctioned for somehow not living up to that contract. And then there's the whole issue of the emotional, mental suffering this kind of policy inflicts on a young person. Heartless bastards.

an elder came over for a visit the other night (he couldn't get a partner) personally i consider him a friend and have revieiled many things to him an figured the tie has come to step out of this religion slowly.. well i finally told him i have no believe in the bible (other then the confirmed history in it) or god.
i did it slowly and tactfully and even non-agressive.. his response to learning i believe in evolution was that evolution doesn't happen now i respectfully disagreed and pointed out lactose and alcohol tolerance among the last thousand years as well as tibetian lung/hearts.
he refused to believe it.
He doesn't believe in evolution because it's (supposedly) not happening anymore? And yet he probably has no problem with the stories of miracles in the Bible, even though they don't happen anymore either.

i'm an anglican and not a jehovahs witness.
what i dislike about lots of church congregations is their readiness to make unpleasant and unhelpful comments about other christian groups.
recently someone in a church tried to tell me a little about the views of jehovahs witnesses.
You should spend a little more time learning about them by browsing here and other internet sites. If you contact them directly you will become a recruiting target.
